A few weeks ago, my sister and I were browsing recipe sites, looking for ideas for a snack to make, when I ran across cream of mushroom soup.  Boy did that bring back memories — and cravings! — so I’ve made a version we can have.  :-) cream of mushroom soup

This bread is good.  It’s always a relief to break past that quiet but obnoxious barrier between “good, all things considering” and “good” outright.  It’s like the best qualities of the banana bread and zucchini bread we used to have, and you don’t really notice it has no sugar, no grains, no dairy. banana bread slices

Jocelyn’s posted before about how to make wassail, a wonderful wintry drink made of spicy fruit juices.  So, you know, naturally, I’m posting a new, low-sugar version in April, which in Texas is nice warm weather even in the wake of polar vortexes.  :-) low-sugar wassail

It took me forever to figure out why I couldn’t get coconut cream ice cream to behave, but once I finally did, it was worth the wait.  :-)  The solution?  Agar-agar powder, and some cashew butter to make it even creamier and richer. chocolate chip

See, my big not-so-secret secret is that I don’t have a pioneering thought in my head.  :-)  Jocelyn posts kolaches?  I post kolaches.  Jocelyn posts cinnamon rolls?  I post cinnamon rolls.   Jocelyn posts homemade chocolate?  I post homemade chocolate.  I’d be lost without my guru. paleo candies

The funny part is that I like these pancakes even better than the gluten-free-but-not-paleo pancakes I’ve made in the past.  :-)  They’re easier to flip, thicker, and heartier, and the batter’s quicker and easier to make (as long as you have the ingredients and a food processor on hand).  Even my grandma Cathie liked these for brunch on Thanksgiving morning.  :-) plantain pancakes and blueberry spread

These freezer pops are a very easy, basic, but really yummy dessert.  Just puree the ingredients, pour them in the molds, and freeze — done. pineapple pops

I’ve also done onion rings before, but, in keeping with my quest to make food my sister can eat on her new, even more restricted diet, here they are again, paleo.  :-)

Some of you might remember GF fried chicken from many moons ago; the real difference between that recipe and this one, and in fact basically the point of this recipe, was that my sister could still eat it now that she’s on a paleo diet to manage her various new food intolerances.  But, she can have everything in this recipe, sauce included, so huzzah! almond-crusted chicken
