Sticky Granola BarsHey there, long time no see! We’re cooking a lot, but mostly tried-and-true stuff. That said, here’s my latest adaptation of our granola bar recipe. This one turned out pretty well, so I thought you might enjoy it too.

Cheesecake is a pain to make, but never have I gotten such rave reviews for a dessert as for this one.  🙂 cheesecake slice

So the idea for this sauce started when I wanted to recreate ketchup; but I very quickly decided ketchup was boring, and why not just make a decent barbecue sauce if I wanted something to dip my chicken or french fries in?  🙂 BBQ sauce

I’d never had quiche at all before last week, but it sure sounded like an interesting idea — savory custard cheese pie?  Ginny says quiche is great?  Sure, let’s give it a shot.  😀 quiche slice

closeup! This is not a fruit salad, oh no. This is an answer to “yet another dinner this week should have a green salad with it. I am TIRED of normal green salad.” My husband thought this was amazingly delicious and horked down like four servings.  Even the two year old ate some of it!

Last week I asked myself, “What glutinous food do I miss that I’d like to have back?”  And then I walked through a supermarket checkout, and my self anwered, “Twix bars.  The peanut butter kind.  You know, like you had with your lunch almost every day in high school.” 05 bars

Cinnamon-Raisin BreadThis weekend Sean declared that it had been too long since he worked with bread dough and he wanted to make cinnamon raisin bread, and so this recipe was born :D. I crafted the recipe, but he did a lot of the work while I was taking care of other things. It turned out remarkably well, and we like it a lot.

I got the original idea for this recipe from some amazing gluten-free lettuce wraps I had at P.F. Chang’s; but rather than try to duplicate that recipe, I wanted to make a version with cashew chicken instead.  🙂 wrap

My friend Ginny threw this together operating entirely on instinct, and it turns out she has really good instincts.  😀  If you want a sweet, cool salsa to use as a dip, side, or topping, here you go. mango salsa

Recently Canned PicklesHello again! Sorry for the unexpected week without a post, but things are oddly crazy around here for having nothing much going on.  We have been out and about a lot, though, and one of those little outings was to a farmer’s market. Lacking a veggie garden of my own (currently! Hopefully I can change that by next spring, but we’ll see), I set out to get the stuff for homemade pickles from the market. I succeeded easily, since it is indeed canning season and pickling cucumbers are plentiful.
